Photo Workshop, May 19: El Mirage Fine Art ~ $125

We are returning to El Mirage for another fun filled day of abstract fine art and fashion photography!  This workshop was extremely popular last year and we expect it to fill up very quickly.  We will meet at 7am on the outskirts of Victorville and caravan into the dry lake.  There will be models for fashion portraits, and several props for some abstract photos.  We will spend a couple hours discussing the techniques to use in what can be a harsh lighting environment and taking tons of photos.

From the dry lake we'll travel a few miles to an old abandoned house where we can shoot a structure slowly being reclaimed by the desert.  finally we will move right down the street to the free standing chimney and graffiti-covered swimming pool.  We will discuss the best way to utilize a non-traditional setting to work with people and spend some time photographing the area.

Those who want, can join us for lunch before heading back toward home.  This is always a fun workshop and one of my favorite places to photograph.  If you are interested in attending, justsend an email to edenlunaphoto@yahoo.com and we will send you a payment invoice through paypal.  Sorry for the inconvenience, but the paypal button is not currently working on this blog. Here are a few photos from various trips to El Mirage.

Meet Brett

We've known Brett for a couple years. He is a good friend and photographer, and when he asked us for some trashy head shots, we knew the perfect place! IMG_8699 IMG_8701 IMG_8708 IMG_8717 IMG_8723 IMG_8736 IMG_8749 IMG_8746 end

Artistic Endeavors

We recently had the pleasure of attending an art show opening for an amazing artist named Christine Spera! Her art is vibrant and weird and truly fantastic! I really wanted to win one of her canvas mounted pieces in the raffle, I even offered her a bribe, but alas I didn't win. Christine was kind enough to give me a signed print however and it is currently being framed so I can hang it over my desk. She is a young creative talent and her first show had an amazing turnout, in fact the event was wall to wall people for the entire evening! Check out her Facebook page and say hello. Monday Mayhem: June 11, 2012

Did you miss us? We missed you...each and every one of you...well...most of you anyway...uh...let's get to the game! After a holiday and a sick day, we are back with this week's Monday Mayhem! This week's mystery photo seems pretty easy to us, but we've said that before and been surprised at how long it took, so perhaps us already knowing what it is skews our opinions! Remember, must be a blog member to play, guesses must be posted her on the blog, and you cannot win two weeks in a row...and since we have been down two weeks, that leaves the field wide open! Happy guessing! Here is this week's mystery photo: mayhem 0611 And here is what you win: mayhem prize 0611 end
